Blackberry Pickin'

We enjoyed a nice hot morning picking blackberries. It was so much fun! I learned a lot about picking them and now will learn a lot about cooking them. I have already started looking at recipes. YUM!!

This place is just right down the road from us. Who would of guessed that we lived by such a gold mine.

There were rows and rows of blackberries! The little farmer there was so sweet! He explained exactly where to look for them and what to be looking for. Little Sweet Farmer Tip #1. Do not pick Red berries.
This is what NOT to be looking for. If you pick the red ones they will NOT ripen off the vine. So we are strictly looking for BLACK berries.

This is much better..These look so good!

Little Sweet Farmer Tip #2. Get low to the ground and look in the shade.

Isn't Rhees doing an excelent job at this! Good job little berry picker!

Little Sweet Farmer Tip #3. Fill the buckets and bring them back.

And yes....he had to be the "MAN" and get more than me. I think he was pretty proud of this!

Well, we didn't let these precious berries sit for very long. We went straight to the store to get stuff for making ice cream. OH MY.... that was the best ice cream ever!

I love that we can enjoy these great experiences together!

Thank you

Well here is an idea for all of you teachers out there. And anyone else that likes to be prepared for gifts. I wanted to make some thank you cards that were simple. The idea came to me because I'm always trying to quickly make up a thank you note to a sweet child. Teaching Kindergarten you never know what they will bring you! So, I wanted to have Thank you cards on hand. These are very simple and really easy to make! I knew if I started making them fancy, I would never get very many done. Some of them I left the flower blank so I could make it for any occasion. I am so excited that I got these done! This was thanks to a friend who had some girls over for a craft night! THANK YOU RACHEL!

Initials

Just cruising around my favorite store when I saw these precious things. I know I know it's not fall but how cute are these! I didn't buy them but really should have! When we were looking at them Rhees had a revelation! A revelation that most girls secretly already know...cause that's just what we do ! Anyways he realized that if we were to tie the knot. (hint hint) We would have the same initials. HOW CUTE IS THAT! So, he arranged the pumpkins for us! I love it!

More of Necia's Decor

GIRLS ...GIRLS...

Yes there are two of us in this place. I can't imagine families with more. We take up so much space. We have so many special items that need a special place. One of those things is JEWELERY! Where do you put all of that wonderful stuff! Well, my daughter found this great little hanger at Hobby Lobby. It was wooden with metal hooks. Perfect !!! We spray painted it black and Mod Podged glitter paper on it. How cute ! I'm sure this will be pretty full after we get done with it. Maybe we should have gotten two! Oh-well! I have to say my Mod Podge ability is getting better. I just love that stuff!

Spray paint...not really a good idea to do this on a humid day. But it turned out ok. I mean when is it NOT humid!

Yes, I know this picture is sideways. I did everything exactly like I always do and it keeps turning my picture this way. OH Well! You get the idea. This is after a coat of Mod Podge.

This is it completed! Turned out very nice! I love my daughter's room! I wish the whole house could be pink and black!! Hobby Lobby has so many wooden pieces that you can paint! You should check it out!

Smoothie

This morning Necia and I were wanting smoothies. We have made these before and they turn out different everytime. We just throw what we have in them. They turn out yummy every time! Sometimes I just get tired of the same old breakfast so this is a nice change.

Little OJ and a few ice cubes

Any type of Yogurt

And about 4 strawberries

This was my Christmas present from my dad. Wow! He is awesome! I love this little thing. It is so handy to have around.

I put all of the indgredients in this cup and the mixer goes in and your done! It is sooooo easy. And sooooo good!

What a great way to start the day!

{Embrace} the Camera

Well, it's Thursday again and I have a cute pic of me and my girl. We just recently went to a friend's wedding and saw a bunch of great friends. While, we were there we stayed at a hotel and the balcony was sooooo small. So, we had fun taking pictures out on it! Hope you enjoy...we had fun taking these.

{Embrace} the Camera

I loved the idea that a friend of mine had on her blog. It's called {Embrace} the Camera. Take a photo of you and your child and publish it every Thursday. I don't have many pictures of us both so this is a great way to start! Thanks Bethany !!

Well, I had a great idea of taking a picture while she was sleeping -- you know like what you do with your baby....well, she didn't like that idea. So, she got a little goofy! And this is what we produced! No makeup and all. It's hard to publish pictures with no makeup but this is our true beauty. Like it or not !

Sumertime Sweet Treat

Well, yesterday I wanted to make something sweet for my man. I was looking at something easy because of time. The dark chocolate chunk cookies were looking very tempting! Then I turned the box over and was sucked in for sure! So, here is what we had for a treat last night. You should try them.....yum!

Buy this yummy mix!

Follow the box directions and make the cookies. When they were almost done I smashed them a little so that they would be flat. I'm sure there is a wonderful trick for this but I just used a spatula.

When the cookies have cooled. Place ice cream on one cookie and then add the top cookie. I used vanilla but next time I want to try mint chocolate chip. Oh....I think I'm drooling!

Then wrap them up in clear plastic wrap and place in the freezer. You won't regret making these. Not really what we should be eating but Hey it's summer! Hope you Enjoy!
